Details on the car itself: The Boss 429 Mustang first hit the streets in January 1969, in order to qualify the 429 V8 engine for NASCARr. Ford began delivering the 1969 Mach 1's to the Kar Kraft works in Brighton in December 1969 where they were stripped of their engines and stock shock towers. The 429 Boss commanded respect with its mammoth power plant that came with ram air inducted, aluminum high-rise and header type manifolds. Each hand assembled Boss also benefited from a racing suspension, and its "boardroom" interior was the finest Mustang had to offer. Its "performance appraisal" included 0-60 in 6.8 seconds, and the quarter mile in 14.0, so this was one boss that truly earned its reputation. Total units produced were 859. This includes 2 - 1969 Boss Cougars. The 1969 Boss Mustangs were available in only 5 colors, Raven Black, Royal Maroon, Black Jade, Candy Apple Red and Wimbledon White. All cars have a black interior.
