This GMC 6000 Series Fire engine is an 18"L x 6"W x 6"H diecast collection car with openable doors & hood, fully detailed engine, working suspension and steering, soft interior & soft rubber tires. This 1975 GMC 6000 Series Fire Truck is manufactured by Highway 61. 50661 is in RED color with White stripes. Individually packed in a window box. Box size: 20.75"L x 8"W x 8"H. The GMC 6000 set the standard for short-cab trucks in the mid 1970s. The 97-1/2" BBC (Bumper-to-Back-of-Cab) allowed bigger payload, longer body or trailer, good weight distribution and ease of maneuvering. Short-hood design aided down-front visibility as well, and put the 230 horsepower, 427 V-8 engine components within easy reach for maintenance and repair. As lasting tribute to the rugged engineering of the GMC 6000 Sierra and companion Chevy C-65 model, is that many of these trucks are still on the job today!
