1968 marked the fifth year for the 4-4-2 and the model was upgradted from an option to a series based on the Cutlass body. The 4-4-2 was powered by a 400 cid Rocket V-8 which could produce up to 350 horsepower. With a wide array of performance and luxury options the 4-4-2 earned a reputation as a straight-line performance rocket that handled well and included creature-comforts not found on most muscle cars.
