God Revealed through Prophecy -Intro

The most published, translated, and scrutinized piece of literature in human history starts this way: "In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." It is a brilliant statement, because here we see that time and space come into existence. We humans tend to use the movement of the heavens to mark the passage of time. Earth gives us a concept of three dimensional space. Now if you accept the first sentence of the Bible to be true, then you would conclude that God must have existed before time and space came into being. This has an interesting ramification.
Let's take it down to our level first. If you painted a picture, created a garden, or built an elaborate movie set, you (the creator) would not be confined to your piece of creation. You could visit what you created and leave when you wanted to. You could actually destroy your own creation and nothing morally wrong will have occurred; but this is a far deeper subject for another day. So your creation would not be able to confine you or dictate terms to you (like how you should behave). In other words, you are not bound by what you created. You exist outside of your creation. Now if this is true, then God certainly would not be bound is creation -time and space. This then has an even more interesting ramification.
If God is not bound by time, then he cannot be confined to the past, present, and the future (like we are). In other words, the future cannot be an unknown to God. If it was, then he would be held captive by his own creation. And to my knowledge, no artist has been stuck inside his painting, garden, or movie set (except perhaps Mickey Mouse down in Disney World). So if God is not held captive to time, then he knows the past, present and the future.
God knows the future? If God knows the future, a reasonable request would be, "Prove it." Through prophecy, God has revealed to us that he does know the future. The skeptic or non-theist has one very basic strategy here in explaining away biblical prophecy. That strategy is to simply argue that the prophecy was written after it occurred. Then the work was just back dated or attribute to someone that lived long ago -before the event occurred.
Not a hard thing to do. Watch. "In the 2nd year of King Bill Clinton's rule, I was standing by the Hudson River and trying to catch toxic fish contaminated by PCBs and was given a vision of two very tall towers falling down." Since the event already occurred and because I know the details, I could sprinkle the text with some real specifics. "This occurred in the morning. This occured in September. The South tower would be the first to fall". All these statements would all be very impressive for anyone who thought that the text was written in 1994 (7 years before the fulfillment).
So for the skeptic and the non-theist, what really is required is to examine biblical prophecy where 1) we know when the prophecy was given, 2) the fulfillment occurs well after the writer of the text passed away, and 3) the fulfillment of the prophecy can be confirmed by other sources. Because if the same book is used to prove that the prophesy came true, the skeptic can simply argue that the book was doctored up.
There are several prophecies in the Bible where the above three conditions converge, let's just look at one.
