Named after the town in Monaco known for its gambling casino, Chevrolet had a sure thing with its beefy full-size Monte Carlo, especially when outfitted with the SS-454 package, whitch included the 454-cid., 365-hp big-block V-8. Standard with the package was a blacked-out rear body panel, heavy-duty front and rear suspension and stabilizer bars, and exclusive badging, Although '71 marked the last year of availability for the SS-454, with just over 1,900 being ordered, the personal luxury car went out a winner!
